Richard Hammond was born in 1969, on 19th December. His full name is Richard Mark Hammond. He was born in Solihull, Warwickshire in England. His mother’s and father’s names are Eileen Hammond and Alan Hammond. He has two brothers, named Andrew and Nicholas.

Andrew is a Crypt Series writer. The family moved to North Yorkshire in the 1980s. The family went to live with Hammond’s father who was working in his own business there.

Richard went to Blossomfield Infant School based in Shirley. When he was seven years, Hammond went to Solihull School. This was a private boys’ independent school. He also went to Ripon Grammar School and finished his studies in 1986. He joined Harrogate College of Art and Technology.

Richard Hammond got married to Amanda Hammond (nee Etheridge). They got married in May 2002. They got married around the time Richard joined Top Gear.

Richard Hammond began his career in media, with a local radio station. He joined a number of BBC radio stations where he showed his presenting skills. In 2002, Hammond caught his big break and appeared in the BBC car television show, Top Gear.

Just two years after taking the job, Richard Hammond and his other co-hosts got nominated for a National Television Award in the category of Most Popular Factual Entertainment Programme. Richard Hammond Accident

In September 2006, Hammond got into a fatal accident when he was filming for a segment for Top Gear. He was traveling at 463 km/h (288 mph) in a dragster at the former Royal Air Force Elvington airbase. His tire burst, resulting in the car getting tumbled.

The car was found partially embedded in the grass. Hammond’s helmet was embedded into the ground. Richard Hammond fully recovered and return back to work. He took on many presenting roles in and out of the United Kingdom.
