Pennyworth season 3 was almost canceled but the news of its renewal came as a relief for all the fans of Pennyworth. HBO Max will be reviving a bunch of shows, and Pennyworth has found a new home. The news isn’t a complete surprise because Time Warner owns both HBO Max and DC Comics.

Since Pennyworth is a DC Comics TV series, it had a fair chance of airing at the HBO Max fold. The show was an instant hit and was appreciated by fans all over the world. So what can you expect from Pennyworth season 3? Well, there’s plenty more story to tell in the show. Here is everything that you need to know about the Pennyworth season 3.

Pennyworth is the origin story of Alfred Pennyworth, Batman, a loyal butler, and confidante. The viewers have been watching all the seasons of the series with great interest. Season 1 followed a young Pennyworth, played by Jack Bannon. The story then shifts to his life in his ’50s and ’60s. We see him leaving the SAS and starting up his own security firm alongside Bruce’s father, Thomas.

Season 2 picked up a year later, and explored deeper into the conspiracies of an alternate London.  We saw Pennyworth teaming up with fellow like-minded operatives.

Pennyworth season 3 will be released in October 2022. The third season was announced at DC FanDome. It was a virtual event and was dedicated to all things DC Comics. The main actors who play Alfred and Thomas revealed the news.

They said, “We’ve had so much fun making Pennyworth over the past two seasons, and we just wanted to thank you all so much for your support.”

Jack Bannon added, “As you can see, we’re on set, and we are officially in production for season 3 of Pennyworth, which is now a Max Original series on HBO Max.”

In terms of a release date, Thomas Wayne actor Ben Aldridge said that both seasons 1 and 2 would be on HBO Max in 2022. They revealed that season 3 will premiere later in 2022. The fans can expect a 2022 release date.

Thanks to the DC FanDome announcement, we have an idea that Pennyworth season 3 is set to delve deeper into the lives of Alfred, Martha Kane, Thomas Wayne, Bet Sykes, Lucius Fox, and the other Pennyworth characters. The audience will find out more about the involvement in the evolution of the Batman canon.
