Review: Pain and Glory (2019), Cast & film summary and where to watch

Pain and Glory is one of the best films released in 2019. The film is in the Spanish language, and it was directed by Pedro Almodóvar. The movie was released on 13 March 2019 (Spain). As well as the movie bagged home the Cannes Best Actor Award.

The movie pain and Glory tells a series of reencounters experienced by the main character Salvador Mallo, a film director in physical decline. Some of these reencounters are fresh and happening in real-time.

Also, there is some reencounter that is set in the flashback and talks about his childhood in the 60s when he has emigrated with his parents to a village in Valencia in search of prosperity. Also, the flashbacks talk about his first desire, his first adult love in Madrid of the 80s, the pain of the breakup of his love which was pretty intense.

And how writing has helped him to overcome all the wrongs and forget the unforgotten. And how he discovered cinema at his early stage of life and how he fell in love with creating movies.

The movie talks about creation and how hard it is to get separated from someone’s life. And throughout the film, he tries to recount his past, and in the end, he finds his salvation.

The film’s official posters were released back on February 11, and another trailer was launched back on February 18, 2019. And finally, the movie was released in Spain on March 22, 2019. It was released in the UK by Pathé on August 23, 2019. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 4, 2019, by Sony Pictures Classics. Also, the movie has a total runtime of 113 mins.
