Twitch has announced on Friday afternoon that TwitchCon Amsterdam 2020 has been canceled. The streaming platform thinks the risk of spreading the coronavirus is too great and cancels the event that would take place in Amsterdam RAI on 2 & 3 May.
Through a statement on Twitter, Twitch announced that it had closely monitored the developments surrounding the coronavirus and that this had led to this decision. The potential health hazards of visitors are too great and force the organization to cancel the major event.

The safety of the visitors and the cooperation of TwitchCon are paramount and Twitch emphasizes that they deeply regret the decision but had no other choice.
Tickets TwitchCon refund
Anyone who has already purchased a ticket for TwitchCon Amsterdam will receive a refund. Twitch does report that it can take up to 20 days before you receive the money in your account. You will receive a confirmation of the cancellation at the e-mail address with which you purchased the ticket.
New date TwitchCon Amsterdam
It is not yet clear whether there will be a new date for TwitchCon Amsterdam. Twitch refers to their Twitter channel where they will provide updates if there are any.
