Top 10 Places To Visit In The USA

The United States is not among the most touristic countries in the world but cinema has turned many American cities into world icons or dream destinations.

Although the country has plenty of natural beauties, the international tourism it receives is mostly concentrated in them, newer or older, but all with their own attractions. If you are wondering which cities should visit in the United States, here is my favourites list:

New York:

Obviously it is in the first place. It is the tourist mecca of this country par excellence and a cosmopolitan city where you can and should do a bit of everything.

Among the most popular attractions are the Empire State Building, the Grand Central Terminal, the Chrysler Building, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Times Square and Central Park.

There are internationally renowned museums such as the MOMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art or MET, the American Museum of Natural History or the Guggenheim, but there are also popular sites such as Little Italy, Brooklyn, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, Coney Island, Lincoln Center, Broadway theatres and much more

The incredible thing is that you surely know at least 90% of everything I just named. That’s how famous New York is. You can buy the NY City Pass and visit the most iconic sites saving 40% for the six most attractions. The regular price is $ 193 but today, on the website, you buy it at 116.

Boston & Washington:

Since we are in New York we can visit Boston and Washington, two of the oldest and most historic cities in the country.

From New York the most common way to arrive in both cities is by train, using the Amtrak service.

Thinking about Boston, if you plan at least fifteen days in advance the trip you can get good discounts at a rate that starts regularly at $ 49.

Boston is a typical New England city, picturesque and sophisticated. You can ride a trolley, there are tourist tours and enjoy gastronomic and ethnic festivals. The coast is beautiful for walking, there are cruises around the port at sunset or at midnight and at certain times of the year, you can even see whales.

The Arnold Arboretum, parks and public squares, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the closed garden of the Trinity Church, the beautiful Public Library, almost a museum and the Italian quarter and the Jewish quarter are also good destinations. It is about walking.

San Francisco:

It is a nice and beautiful city with its streets going up and down. We have seen it in many movies so at this point we know that we cannot miss the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Chinatown, Cointower, its museums, the cable car, and its trams.

The best views of the sea are from Pier 39, with its restaurants and bars, at Fisherman’s Wharf. It is worth a walk on Lombard Street, with its houses and gardens, the beautiful park The Presidio and the Yerba Buena Gardens.

For museums is the Exploratorium, the Museum of Asian Art, the Jewish Museum and the Legion of Honor built in the memory of soldiers killed in World War I who have art for more than four thousand years.

New Orleans:

This city has a lot of personality for me. The French imprint is felt in the French Quarter, but you also perceive it in food. It is a green, lush, sunny city.

It has many museums related to the country’s history: The United States Custom House, the Backstreet Cultural Museum, The Presbytere, the Cabildo, the Longue Vue Residence, the San Luis Cemetery, the Hermann-Grimae Residence, several houses from the 18th century and XIX, old plantations and several churches.

Chicago:

It is known as the City of Wind and is the third-largest city in the country behind New York and Los Angeles.

You can visit the Willis Tower, the second tallest building in North America, with a glass box that seems to hang in a vacuum, the Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park, with its show of colors and music, take a boat ride or stroll in the Ferris wheel of the Navy Pier.

Chicago owns a beautiful architecture too, among skyscrapers and classic buildings of the 19th century. Outdoor spaces, if you go with good weather, are also recommended: Millennium Park, 606, an old train line converted into a path that runs through different muds, Maggie Daley Park and the entire coast with its 33 beaches and a vast path that runs along the edge of Lake Michigan.

The Angels:

This city is in California and dates from the late 18th century. If you like Hollywood you can not miss it: the sign on the hill, Hollywood Boulevard with its theatres and museums, the gallery of the National Academy of Cinema and tours of the homes of celebrities.

Don’t leave out the Grammy Museum, the Los Angeles Museum of Art, the cemetery, the Hollywood Heritage Museum, Universal Studios, Disneyland and much more.

Las Vegas:

Las Vegas, what can be said about the game’s mecca? Although it concentrates a lot of tourism, the game is not the only thing you will see or do in this city in the middle of the desert. There are shows in the casinos, there are bars, restaurants and a nightlife like no other.

But you can also leave the city and go hiking, stroll through the Grand Canyon and visit the Hoover Dam. That feeds this city that never sleeps with energy, Lake Mead and the Grand Wash Cliffs

Among the museums I recommend the Museum of Atomic Tests, the Bellagio Botanical Gardens and its art gallery, the Eiffel Tower that offers great panoramic views, at the Paris Las Vegas Casino Hotel, the Aquarium with three shows a day and obviously, the famous City sign that is on Las Vegas Boulevard. The photo there cannot be missing.

Of course, the United States has many other interesting cities, but it seems to me that these are the most touristic.

San Diego

Continuing with the ‘saints’ and with California, another city worth visiting is San Diego, very close to the Mexican border. Although it is not as well known as the previous one, in it we can encounter real wonders such as Coronado Island or the San Diego Zoo, as well as the beautiful Balboa Park where you can find seals in full freedom.

Miami

Florida is another one of those places we always hear about, but we don’t know much about. There is Miami, another city very explored in the small and on the big screen, which can also be considered as a great tourist destination. Its beaches, little Havana and, of course, the city centre itself, full of skyscrapers, are its main tourist attractions.

Honolulu

The capital of Hawaii, Honolulu, is surrounded by so much mysticism that some people do not even consider it as a possible destination. But the truth is that, in addition to possible, it is highly recommended. Its sunsets, beaches, and nature are sufficient reasons for you to travel there, but also, if you like history, you can step on Pearl Harbor and remember one of the most bloody and known episodes of the current era.

When exploring the top 10 places to visit in the USA, don’t miss out on the excitement of securing playoff Knicks tickets for an unforgettable sports experience in New York.
