The movie has two sequels and two spin-offs that were titled, Minions. The franchise has become the highest-earning animated movie. It has earned around $ 3.7 billion and is the biggest animated movie of today. It is expected that this instalment will also be able to make it big on the box office.

Minions: The Rise of Gru Plot: What is it actually about?

The title indicates that the rise of the Gru would focus on how the cutesy little creatures will have a faceoff with the supervillain Felonious Gru. The Rise of Gru will be a sequel to the 2015 minions. The 2015 version of the movie saw the evolution of the little creatures for serving the masters. The previous instalments focused on the minions trying to save their masters but ending up not being successful.

The minions hide in a cave but the bravest minion out of the rest makes efforts to leave the cave and find a new master for them. They finally find a new master Scarlet Overkill who craves to get a hold on the Imperial crown. The young Gru ends up stealing the crown and the minions decide that they will follow the Gru from now onwards and make them their master.

Steve Carell will be lending his voice once again for the Gru character. He has been doing it for all the last instalments and would do so for this one as well. Carell is a famous actor who is best known for playing comical characters. The sitcom The office is one of his most acclaimed roles. He has given his voice to many other famous movies like Over the Hedge and Horton hears a who. Pierre Coffin would be lending his voice for the minions again. He speaks various languages to make the script of the minions interesting. He has lent his voice for the last four instalments and was also a co-director of the franchise.

The directors of the movie are Kyle Balda and Brad Abelson. Balda has directed some other famous animated movies as well. He has directed The Toy story and Jumanji before and has got acclaims for his direction.
