He passed away on March 13, 2021, when he was just 66. “Marvelous Marvin Hagler” had a successful boxing career and was once the undisputed king of boxing. It was his final professional match and he was awarded $20 million before taxes. Leonard was given a total of $12 million. The match was considered to be one of the most interesting boxing matches of all time.
He was a middleweight boxer and held a record of 67 fights, 62 total wins, 52 wins by knockout, three losses, two draws, and zero contests. He was five feet and nine inches and was awarded the title of the Undisputed World Middleweight Champion. His career spanned from 1980 to 1987 and he was inducted with the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame. He also received numerous other titles that include “Fighter of the Year” and “Fighter of the Decade.” He is the fifth-greatest middleweight boxer in the world.
