Mamangam is an upcoming Indian Malayalam language film. The film is a period drama presented beautifully by the makers. If you are a fan of period dramas then this one is for you. Plot

The film’s plot focuses on the Mahakam festival which was celebrated in the 17th century in the region of Malabar. It revolves around a warrior named Chaaverukal who plots against Zamorin of Calicut and plans to overthrow them from the throne. As the film is based on historical events it’s even more interesting. So don’t forget to give it a try. The sets of the film have been created on a land of 18 acres. Many elephants and horses were hired to portray the realistic depiction in the war-related scenes. The actors have transformed them really well and heavy costumes were designed for them to make them look real.

The songs of Mamangam are quite catchy once you listen to them you will be humming them all day. They are gaining a lot of popularity among people and will surely help the business of the film too. Mukkuthi, Boondon Siand Mukkhera are some of the popular songs from the film.

The lead actor Mammootty has given 4 back to back hits this year and it looks like he is going to get another blockbuster in his kitty. The trailer of the movie was launched on 2nd November and the expectations from the movie have risen even more after the release of the trailer. The story of the movie revolves around the Mamangam festival which took place back in the 18th century. It is based on a true even and the visuals and cinematography in the trailer are praiseworthy. The trailer highlight a group of men heading for war and also focuses on the sacrifices and struggles faced by women who are left behind. There are also heart wrenching snip shots of women and children taking out and wielding their swords to fight for their rights. As soon as the trailer came out it is constantly being compared to the mega-hit Baahubali.

The first look poster of the movie was released a while back and has fascinated the audience and critics. In the poster, the lead actor Mammootty gives a fierce look and looks perfect as a stiff and strong warrior. The movie is based on warriors who are trained as assassins and their war is against Zamorin rulers. The actor is wearing traditional robes and an outfit in the poster. A single poster captures the essence of the whole movie and presents the complete outline and story. The period drama looks promising and engaging and is sure to capture the audience when it is out in the theaters.

Release date

The film was initially going to be released in November but was later postponed and will now release on 12th December 2019. The budget of the film is 45 crores which is a huge amount to recover. The makers of the film were not very satisfied with some of the parts in the film so they had to re-shoot it because of which the film was delayed to December.
