COVID-19 Effect: Good News For JNTUH Engineering Students

A 21-day nationwide lockout was implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus. Recently, a group of ministers recommended extension of closure of all schools and colleges by May 15 in view of the lockout. This has left students across the country in a state of confusion regarding their academic schedule and examinations.

However, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUH) has taken an important decision in view of the current situation.

According to the report, the university decided to promote all students in the next semester. This important decision was taken to avoid the adverse effects of the epidemic on the future of students. Allegedly, the university will pick up the detention policy and promote students, regardless of their credit, this academic year.

The report also states that the university will conduct semester examinations in June following the government’s lockout.

This decision of JNTUH will benefit about 2 lakh engineering students.

Osmania University is also expected to follow in the same footsteps.

Meanwhile, colleges have been ordered to conduct online classes for students. It has issued instructions in this regard to 250 colleges across the state.

In an official meeting, PM Modi told the MPs that a final decision would be taken to extend the lockout after a meeting with all Chief Ministers on 11 April.
