Italian city cleared for World War II “WW2” Damage Bomb

The southern Italian city of Brindisi has been partially evacuated today because a bomb from the Second World War was made harmless. About 54,000 residents of the city had to leave their homes temporarily. About 87,000 people live in Brindisi.

This is a one-meter-long bomb that weighs 200 kilograms and was found on 2 November. The bomb was on a building site where a cinema was being worked on. The tool of the construction workers has slightly damaged the bomb, which made dismantling a difficult job today.

For safety’s sake, all local residents were evacuated in a radius of 1.5 kilometers around the bomb. The gas from houses was also sealed off within 500 meters of the explosive.

1250 people were involved in the eviction that started on Saturday.
