Geert Wilders declaration against Pakistani cleric after death threat

Khadim Hussain Rizvi is the leader of the radical Islamist party Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) and was one of the driving forces behind the protests in Pakistan last year against Geert Wilders‘ plan to organize a cartoon contest about the Prophet Mohammed. “Once our government arrives, we will behead you,” is the tweet sent on October 24. Below it was a video of Rizvi.

In a translation of the video that is included in the official report, the phrase “the pig from the Netherlands who is the insult of the prophet” is mentioned. Wilders says he feels ‘seriously threatened’ by the recording.

Geert Wilders also reported Rizvi last year, because he allegedly issued a so-called ‘fatwa’ against him. The declaration was included in the House of Representatives on Wednesday. The account has since been suspended by Twitter.

Following the plans for a cartoon competition, concerns were raised last year about the safety of the Dutch in Pakistan. Wilders eventually canceled the game for this reason.
