Pope Francis has turned in the conflict of the two blocked rescue vessels of the German aid organisations in the Mediterranean.

“Since quite many days, 49 are located in the Mediterranean sea rescued persons on Board of two NGO-ships”, said the Catholics in the head on Sunday after the Angelus prayer in St. Peter’s square. “I teach a grieved appeal to the European heads of state and government, that you can show concrete solidarity in dealing with these people.”

The volunteers of the organization, the Sea-rescued Watch had before Christmas, 32 people in distress at sea. At the end of December, the ship of Sea-Eye from Regensburg took a further 17 migrants. Both Malta and Italy refuse the ships entry into their ports. The Federal government has agreed to participate in a European solution to accommodate the people.
