During a show of DJ Martin Garrix last night in the RAI Amsterdam, more than a hundred people suffered from pepper spray. Some of these partygoers have also been robbed, reports the police.
In total, around 130 people were treated by the first aid for pepper spray. It is still unclear how many people have actually been robbed. There are no returns yet. The police are calling on victims to do so, so that they can use it to take further steps in the investigation.
“This is extremely annoying,” responds Tim Boersma, press manager at ADE. “It’s only been a trend lately. There are more examples of the festival where this happens. Unfortunately, ADE also appeared four times last year. Unfortunately, there are people who abuse the fact that there are many people together. “
The organization says it does everything it can to prevent such things. We have a zero tolerance policy, but we can never find everything. We can only try to avoid as many risks as possible.
Fighting
On Martin Garrix ‘ Facebook, a concertgoer complains that he was only able to see 20 minutes of the performance because he got the corrosive stuff sprayed in his face. Last year pepper spray was also used during a Garrix performance at ADE. “My goal is to ensure that everyone has a good time and then it is such a shame that a few idiots are ruining it for everyone,” he then wrote on Twitter.
There were also early Saturday morning fights at the RAI, where the famous DJ gave a party. The police had to use a baton to break up the fighters. People also turned against the police. The police had to pull the baton again to keep the crowd at bay. Then the peace returned.
