The Left is looking at the start of the election year, the shoulder-to-shoulder with the SPD and the Greens. “We are three parties to the left of the Union have a duty to allow a progressive government alternative,” said party leader Katja Kipping in the political start to the year in Berlin.
“it’s our responsibility to history, to the Concerns of the people in the present and in view of the great questions of the future.” Kipping called on their own party to be more open to such alliances, and government investments.
If the Left really wanted to achieve something, you must “get the node points of Power,” said Kipping. Some would have to give up their automatic rejection, and more open thinking. The Left must build trust to the SPD and the Greens, without being naive, and to ignore what the parties separated from each other.
The Left-Chairman has criticized a concentration of Power, money and Knowledge in the hands of a few. “That is why we need a government that is attacking this concentration of power courageously” called Kipping. Her Co-Chairman Bernd Riexinger called for a left Alliance. “The hope for a different, social and democratic Europe comes from the left,” he said. The Left is a Partner to all that made Germany of just and the climate wanted to save.
Riexinger and Kipping had formulated a “call for social awakening and courageous climate protection”. In it, they demand, among other things, the Left needs to combine social democracy with the protection of the climate and such issues are not alone the Green.
