The Green-Chairman Robert Habeck has given a previous lack of interest in the growing together of Germany and of particular problems in the East.
“For me, I must admit with great self-criticism: As a West German, I have interested me for many years for the growing together of Germany and of the particular problems in the East,” said Habeck of the “Free press”. He added: “notions such as homeland and Germany were for people with my socialization and also for a left-progressive party like the Greens for a long time is difficult.”
in Addition, there had been “a strong, consumption-critical attitude” in his party, “life satisfaction with material to equate prosperity, was long frowned upon”. Many people in the East would not have been able to understand this attitude of the Green. This is one of the reasons for the structural weakness of its party in East Germany. In Saxony, Brandenburg and Thuringia, the new country will be chosen in the autumn days.
