Around 50 heads of state and government of the African Union (AU) are meeting today for their annual summit. The main topics of the two-day meeting in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, escape and Migration are in this year.

More than a third of all people worldwide have been forcibly displaced, living on the African continent: 6.3 million refugees and asylum seekers, as well as 14.5 million internal refugees.

The EU Commission, modeled on the AU Commission to organise, with the UN refugee Agency, UNHCR auxiliary a Meeting, on the on the causes of violent forced displacement in Africa is discussed. UNHCR chief Filippo Grandi to participate. To be the AU summit, UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, and the Microsoft founder Bill Gates expected. The EU high representative for foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini will meet on the sidelines of the summit of African heads of state and government.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi during the meeting, the AU-chaired by Rwanda’s head of state Paul Kagame. Also reforms of the AU are on the agenda. Many of the decisions of the AU are implemented and the Union of 55 of the States lack resources, and enforce our agreements.
